Introducing the Discovery Widget: Real Conversations on Every Surface That Matters

Oct 12, 2026

The Discovery Widget surfaces real user posts on any page of your app. Configure what to show, choose where it appears, and the conversations your users are already having show up wherever they matter most.

Why discovery matters

The most valuable content in any app is the engagement users are already creating. Real posts, real replies, real conversations about the things they care about. That engagement lives in feeds and community spaces, where authentic, high-intent moments happen every day. But the rest of the app does not carry any of it.

The Discovery Widget extends that engagement to the rest of the app. A product page can show real customer conversations. A homepage can surface the most active discussions. A category page can highlight relevant posts. Feeds and community spaces remain where those moments live. The Discovery Widget gives brands the flexibility for real engagement to surface wherever it matters most.

What is the Discovery Widget

The Discovery Widget displays 3 to 5 ranked posts on any page of a brand's app. Each card shows a post snippet with media, reply and reaction counts, and activity status, so the content feels active and worth tapping into.

Brands control what appears through Topics, configured in the social.plus console. A Topic is essentially a filter: choose which posts to surface based on author type, role, or content type, and optionally exclude negative-sentiment posts when AI Insights is enabled. Once a Topic is set up, one embed snippet places the widget on any page. Posts refresh daily, ranked by relevance, engagement, and freshness, with safety gates always on. Flagged, removed, or hidden posts never appear, private posts stay private, and banned or deleted authors are automatically excluded.

What it looks like in practice

A user browses the homepage and sees 3 to 5 real posts relevant to that page. Reply counts, reactions, real people talking about things that match the context. They tap one, read a real conversation, and discover engagement they would not have found on their own. That single moment of discovery is often all it takes to turn a passive browser into an active participant.

On a product or category page, the widget surfaces posts tied to that exact topic. A user considering a purchase sees real customers discussing the product in their own words, not a curated review or a star rating, but an actual conversation that happened organically. On a page tied to a specific activity or program, like a fitness class, a wellness challenge, or a training plan, real member posts about joining and participating give prospective members visible proof that people like them are already involved.

The mechanism across all of these is the same: real posts, real engagement, matched to topics brands define, placed on any page with one embed snippet.

Real engagement as a trust signal

The engagement your users are creating is the most natural reason for other users to participate. When real posts with real signals show up on a page, users see something they would not have found on their own: active conversations about the exact thing they are looking at. That visibility changes behavior. Users who see real activity on a surface are more likely to tap in, explore further, and come back, and the more surfaces that carry real engagement, the more that participation compounds across the app.

On every surface where the widget appears, users see the same thing: real people, genuinely engaged. Product discussions build purchase confidence in a way that star ratings alone do not. Member experiences near a class or program lower the barrier to signing up. Active conversations give first-time users a reason to explore further. These are not separate strategies for separate verticals. They are the same mechanism applied to the surfaces each brand already has, turning existing engagement into a visible, working part of the product experience.

Real conversations on every surface that matters

The engagement already exists. The Discovery Widget makes it visible wherever a brand decides it belongs. A Topic takes minutes to configure and one embed snippet to place. No custom build, no ranking logic to write, no recommendation engine to maintain.

The Discovery Widget is available now. Get in touch with our team for a walkthrough, or visit the documentation to start configuring your first Discovery Widget.
